Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Telugu Calendar handles information when you use the Telugu Calendar mobile app, website, blog, and privacy page.

Effective date: March 13, 2026

Who we are

Telugu Calendar is published by Bhanu Vadlakonda. If you have a privacy question or request, you can reach us at admin@telugucalendar.app.

What information we collect

We collect and process the following categories of information:

  • Data stored on your device: selected city, language preference, notification preference, last sync timestamp, cached monthly calendar packs, and cached festival and observance content.
  • Operational telemetry sent to the Telugu Calendar API: app version, platform, coarse region derived from the selected city country code, sync success or failure status, and a crash-free session flag.
  • Analytics and error-tracking data sent through PostHog: app lifecycle events, screen view events, deep-link events, exception or crash events, and related device, app, and session metadata used to understand app reliability and usage.
  • Website analytics data sent through Google Analytics: page views, navigation events, referring page information, and related browser and device metadata used to understand how the public website and blog are used.
  • Optional permission-based data: if location-based city detection is used, the app may access foreground location to determine a nearby supported city and calculate place-specific timings. If reminders are enabled, the app may schedule local notifications on your device.

Telugu Calendar does not require account registration and does not collect payment card details, contacts, photos, microphone input, messages, or advertising identifiers for advertising purposes.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • display Telugu calendar data, timings, festivals, and observances for the city you choose;
  • cache content offline so the app remains useful without a network connection;
  • sync updated packs and content from the Telugu Calendar backend;
  • send optional local reminders when you enable notification-based features;
  • measure website usage, app reliability, diagnose crashes, and improve product quality; and
  • protect the service and investigate operational issues.

When data stays on-device vs leaves the device

Selected city, language, notification preferences, last sync timestamp, and cached calendar content are stored locally on your device. These items are primarily used to power the app offline.

Information leaves the device when the app downloads updated calendar packs or content from the Telugu Calendar API, submits operational telemetry to the Telugu Calendar backend, sends analytics and crash events to PostHog, or sends website analytics events to Google Analytics when you use the public website or blog. Notification schedules are created on your device and do not require an account.

Third parties and service providers

We use service providers to operate the app and its infrastructure, including:

  • PostHog for product analytics and error tracking.
  • Google Analytics for website and blog usage analytics.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the Telugu Calendar API and website.
  • Expo Application Services for app delivery and update-related infrastructure used by the Expo-based mobile app.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share data with third parties for their own advertising.

Permissions and device features

Location: Telugu Calendar supports manual city selection and the current shipped experience does not require location access. If foreground location-based city detection is used, the app will request permission before accessing location data. The app does not request background location.

Notifications: Telugu Calendar only schedules local reminders if you enable notifications. You can turn notifications off in the app settings or in your device settings.

Data retention

On-device cached data remains until you clear the app's storage, remove the app, or new synced data replaces older cached content. Notification schedules remain until they fire, expire, or you disable and clear reminders.

Operational telemetry sent to the Telugu Calendar backend is retained only as needed for service monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability work. PostHog analytics and error-tracking data are retained according to the retention settings configured for the PostHog workspace we use. Google Analytics website data are retained according to the retention settings configured for our Google Analytics property.

Your choices and controls

You can control your information in several ways:

  • choose a supported city manually instead of using location-based features;
  • enable or disable notifications in the app;
  • clear app data or uninstall the app to remove locally stored preferences and cached content; and
  • contact us if you have a privacy question or request.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Telugu Calendar. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Telugu Calendar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at admin@telugucalendar.app.

International transfers

Telugu Calendar and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. By using the app, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy before or when they take effect.
